Skincare routine during seasonal transitions

Skincare Op. Dr. Yasemin Aydınlı · 6 min read

Seasonal transitions are a period of adaptation for your skin. Changes in humidity, temperature and sunlight can cause fluctuations such as dryness, sensitivity or oiliness in the skin. A simple but consistent routine is the key to getting through this period with the least damage.

Morning routine

  1. Gentle cleansing: a pH-balanced cleanser that does not dry the skin.
  2. Moisturising: a lighter or richer moisturiser according to the season.
  3. Sun protection: all year round, every day — the most important step.

Evening routine

  1. A two-step cleanse that removes the day's dirt and makeup.
  2. A repairing serum according to the skin's needs (e.g. moisturizing or renewing ingredients).
  3. A barrier-supporting night moisturizer.
In skincare, it's not “many products” but a “correct and consistent” routine that pays off.
